Cost Category Identities are how Bramble ensures that the data being uploaded into the Connector is assigned to the correct Production Task in Bramble.

The first time you upload a new file for a given Workflow and Source, you'll need to complete the initial Cost Category mapping via the Cost Category Identity Search screen under the Data menu option, as this table only populates once that step has been completed.

Once you have completed the initial mapping, and have successfully uploaded a file, you can use Cost Category Identities to manage those mappings ongoing.

The Cost Category Identity table contains the following information:

  • Id - the system generated number produced for each Cost Category Identity

  • Source - which data source the Cost Category identity is associated with

  • Cost Category - the name of the Cost Category in Bramble data will be assigned to

  • Value - the unique Cost Category identifier from the column in the Workflow, the specifications were built to

If there's a change to identifier in the Source system, or to the Cost Category the identifier should be linked to, you may need to change how the Cost Category is mapped into Bramble.

To view or edit a Cost Category Identity, click on the Id number in the first column of the table above, which will open the detail panel below:

From here you are able to edit either the Source or the Cost Category simply by selecting the applicable dropdown.
